From choirboy at Salisbury cathedral, to winner of the BBC Young Musician Competition at the age of 18, Nicholas Daniel has established himself as one of the world’s foremost oboists. He has played all over the world and done much to extend the repertoire for his instrument through the many new works that have been written for him. He is also a committed conductor and in demand across the globe as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor. He makes a welcome return visit to Welwyn Garden Concert Club of which he is also Patron.

Julius Drake, described by The New Yorker magazine as the ‘collaborative pianist nonpareil’, lives in London and enjoys an international reputation as one of the finest instrumentalists in his field, collaborating with many of the world’s leading artists, both instrumental and vocal. He performs regularly at key concert venues and festivals around the world and shares his vast experience as a teacher at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, as well as through masterclasses internationally.
